World Cup 2010: Vuvuzelas

World Cup 2010: Vuvuzelas
Live news - 14/06/2010
The World Cup 2010 could be the noisiest edition to this day. A sound specificity of the event, vuvuzelas, these long plastic horns used by the supporters from South Africa, can reach up to 130 decibels (the level of a jet at take-off).
This very high sound level can cause hearing troubles to the people in close proximity. For TV viewers, there is no danger, only an irritation related to the constant buzzing.

Many complaints have been raised against vuvuzelas, but despite reflections on this topic, it seems that they will not be banned. Vuvuzelas are indeed an integral part of the South African culture.
