Vuvuzelas banned by UEFA

Vuvuzelas banned by UEFA
Live news - 03/09/2010
The noise of vuvuzelas, long plastic horns that can reach up to 130 decibels, disturbed the World Cup 2010. Yet they were tolerated due to their importance to the South African culture. From now on, this will not be the case any more in Europe. Indeed, UEFA has just banned their use in European competitions, especially Euro 2012.
“The magic of football consists of the two-way exchange of emotions between the pitch and the stands, where the public can transmit a full range of feelings to the players. However, UEFA is of the view that the vuvuzelas would completely change the atmosphere, drowning supporter emotions and detracting from the experience of the game,” UEFA declared.
