For the first time this year, 4 noise measurement stations, coupled with displays of significant size (100 cm x 70 cm), were installed on posts along the way. Specially devised for the event, visible by everyone, the displays gave the sound level in decibels in real time and showed prevention messages.
Basically, above 85 dB(A), a yellow flash advised the public, and especially young people and children, to wear hearing protections. Beyond 105 dB(A), a red light alerted them to the need to go away from the speakers.
The DJs could then know the noise generated by their floats. As for the participants, Technopol made 40,000 ear plug pairs available for free along the way, distributed by the Techno Parade volunteers.
The prevention system aimed to manage the sound environment and to make the participants and the professionals aware of hearing risks related to amplified music (concerts, nightclubs, festivals), for them to keep enjoying music.
