The objective was to document the sound impact of the event for the local residents and to reduce, thanks to a monitoring system in real time, the annoyance related to the event.
In order to help the organisers respect their commitment to reduce noise nuisances in the neighbourhood, Bruitparif installed two measurement stations for the people living in close proximity to the stadium. These equipments were coupled with a platform displaying the measurement data in real time, available on the Internet. The tool let the sound managers monitor and adapt the volume of the sound system live.
The operation was a success, the levels decreased in an overall way and the local residents were satisfied of the initiative.
The event was a good opportunity to test the monitoring system before its permanent installation by the end of the year.
