The Rumeur website is open!
Bruitparif - 28/09/2011
Jean-Paul Huchon, President of the Ile-de-France Regional council, and Abdelali Meziane, President of Bruitparif, announced today the official launch of the Rumeur website, developed by Bruitparif. Available from the homepage www.bruitparif.fr/en, it lets every Ile-de-France inhabitant know in real time the sound level measured by the 30 permanent stations already installed on the territory and access the data of more than 300 other measurements of the measurement network.
Every Ile-de-France inhabitant now has access in full transparency to the data of the measurements (air, road and rail noise, industrial and commercial activities) carried out by Bruitparif since its creation. Of course, the future stations that will be deployed on the territory for the strategic plan of road and rail noise monitoring, as well as the data from the complementary measurement campaigns will be gradually integrated to the website.

For pedagogical purposes, and to better translate the annoyance of the populations, you will find event indicators about the characteristics of the noise peaks (airplane or helicopter overflights, …) in addition to the energetic indicators about average noise over given periods.

Unique for the richness of its content, the transparency of the information and the range of offered functionalities, the website makes the way noise fluctuates in time easy-to-understand and intuitive.

The goal of the website is to objectively characterise the noise exposure of the populations. It aims to become a true decision-making tool to support public authorities in the implementation of noise policies (urban development, transportation…) and the research teams in the improvement of the knowledge on the relation between noise and health.
