Noise and health guide by the EEA
Recommendations - 16/11/2010
The European Environment Agency (EEA) has just published a guide on the health effects of environmental noise exposure: annoyance, stress, sleep disturbance, cardiovascular risks, cognitive impairment... The consequences can be very serious.
The objective of this guide is to provide decision-makers with concrete information on the relation between noise and health in order to help them draw up their action plans as required by the 2002/49/EC European directive. The document also lists the quality targets recommended by the World Health Organisation.
