1st Convention on the night

1st Convention on the night
Event - 15/11/2010
In order to reconcile the different rhythms and habits and to better live together by night, the City of Paris, in association with the Ile-de-France Region and the Police Headquarters, organised the 1st Convention on Paris nights on November 12th and 13th.
Two days and one night of debates led to concrete proposals to reconcile the “three nights of the city” - rest, entertainment and work.

Among the topics of discussion: transportation, life conditions for night workers, new spaces for Paris nights, public peace, security, shops... the issue was dealt with as a whole.

The noise issue, resulting among other things from the smokers in front of cafés and nightclubs, was at the centre of the talks. Among the proposals selected, the City of Paris announced that objective studies of the noise nuisances will be carried out by Bruitparif. In particular, objective data will help characterise the sound environment and make commitments during mediation processes. In addition, an awareness and alert system could be deployed to inform the public and make them pay more attention to the neighbourhood.
